Allergan, Botox manufacturers' head office

Botox® manufacturer sold for £42 billion!

Actavis, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical firms is buying the Botox maker, Allergan for £42billion to create one of the biggest pharmaceutical organisations in the world.

Allergan had previously fended off hostile bids from the activist investor William Ackman and Valeant Pharmaceuticals.

BOTOX® was first approved by the FDA in the USA, back in 1989 for the treatment of blepharospasm and strabismus, making it the first botulinum toxin type A product to be approved. Since then, variants of the brand have been made available for wrinkle reducing and wrinkle relaxing.
